I am feeling rather clever at the moment. (This is to be read with a very sarcastic feel - maybe I should write that in italics?) I am feeling rather clever at the moment (hmmm....much better).

Anyway, what have I done that makes me feel so clever?? I got my fingers stuck in my mixmaster. Yep! You read that right. Fingers. Mixmaster. The little silver things that spin around really fast when you are beating something. Uh huh. No. I don't know how I did it, but I do have the bruises to show for it. Bruises. Inbetween my fingers! OK. When you have stopped trying not to laugh, I shall explain.

We were doing our geography (I know you are wondering what Mixmasters have to do with geography - but I'll get to that) and the kids were getting a bit bored with all the information on Russia, so we decided to do a bit of Russian cooking instead. My mind went instantly to cabbage and vodka (not very appetising) but after perusing all the recipes, and after rejecting some ideas (they eat caviar with their pancakes!!!!) we settled on Russian Porchiki. Sounds exotic doesn't it, but it's not really, it's basically donuts.

Ellie was in charge of the dry stuff and Harri got to break the eggs (always exciting - never really sure how much shell you will be picking out later) and beat the butter and sugar.
I put the mixmaster together and explained to Harri how to use it. "Just watch your fingers don't get in the way, it would hurt if you got them stuck" (famous last words eh!). I then passed the mixmaster to Harri, and in the process, turned it on and got my fingers stuck!!!
("Oh yeah Harri, do what I say and not what I do OK")

So, I was expecting to see a shot of your bruised fingers at the end???

*Diccer: someone who injures various parts of their anatomy because of their inability to focus on a task. As in, "She always had a bandage somewhere on her, she was known to be a bit of a Diccer".

(I swear that was the word that came up! God is so good to me).
