Can't you just hear Aretha Franklin singing "Freedom"........

My husband, who I love dearly, is not my favourite person this weekend.

He has flown off to Sydney for another Camera House meeting where he is staying for four nights at the Four Points by Sheraton on Darling Harbour!!!!!

He has buffet breakfasts, all lunches provided at the conference and even a dinner at the Conference room at Taronga Zoo (he has to catch the MV Princess - pre-dinner drinks - and then the Sky Safari (?) to get there!!!) He also has a formal dinner held  in the Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton.

All this is paid for by the company, so I'm not really complaining. And yeah, I know, he works really hard and deserves a break etc. Blah, blah, blah.

But can't I at least have a good ol' fashioned whinge about it not being me, and probably never will be!!!

During the week, Nev did try and do his best hang-dog type expressions and say things like, "I don't really want to go", "it won't be the same without you" etc etc.

Pshaw Nev!!! What? Are you completely nuts?? I mean, when you look THIS good in your new formal gear, you gotta go out and show it off.....

I would go in a heartbeat.  Four nights in a hotel room without the kids or the dog!!!!!

Come on girls, sing it with me and Aretha........

I would absolutely go! In fact, I'd settle for a couple of days in some sleezy resort (as long as there was airconditioning, running water, and doors with locks). Sigh...why doesn't anyone ever offer teachers holidays like that?

And if this were my husband, you can bet I'd whine.

Oh Mary - the chance would be a fine thing eh!! The best news is that yesterday, my daughter Ellie came down with the vomits. So not only is he away in the lap of luxury, but he's missing all the fun - not!

Looking good Nev! Don't worry Helen, you can have peanut butter sandwiches for dinner while Nev's away.
