Psalm 33: 20-22

As I sit here eating my hot, peanut butter, multi grain toast, I am thankful - for the peanut butter toast mm mm - and for many other things in my life right now. All of a sudden there seems to be so much to blog about.

As I contemplate the last term (it's funny that I should see my life broken down into terms - I suppose that when you are home schooling, it just seems to be the most obvious time cycle) I am overwhelmed with thanks to God for the many blessings in this phase of my life.

I am so thankful for a loving husband who works so hard and loves us so very much and makes it easy for me to stay home. I am thankful for two, healthy, happy children. I am thankful for wonderful friends who help to make our lives so much richer. I am thankful for our 'freaky-deaky' home church which challenges us to find what it is that we can do for God, encourages us to do it and helps us along the way. I am thankful for the fact that I have now successfully completed two terms of home schooling and that my relationship with my children is so much stronger for it.

We have had an amazing term together. Ellie is keeping up with all her bookwork and has just started writing all her answers in cursive script. We have discovered and explored Denmark, Russia and Antarctica, become involved in some community projects (we are now members of Save the Frogs and Save the Whales), we have investigated sugar cane, glass blowing, music to poetry, face painting, fingerprints, systems of the body and the planning, design, building and painting of a dolls house.

Harri has learned to write all his letters and is reading really well. He has begun some very basic maths, which he really enjoys, and has loved being a part of, and adding his own ideas to all the other activities as well. Thanks to good old Uncle Kev, they have both been enjoying their gymnastic classes and their swimming lessons.

I am still concerned that they need more social activities, and last week they made friends with two children in the neighbourhood - a girl just older than Ellie, and a boy just slightly younger than Harri. I was so thrilled to see them out riding bikes and skateboards, skipping and pushing each other around in an old pram (?!) - some of my best childhood memories are just hanging out in the neighbourhood with all the other kids.

I am also thankful that Nev has to go to Sydney for the Photo Marketing Australia Conference for the next four days and seeing as his boss is paying for all accommodation - we get to go too!!! So while Nev is sitting in on new-technology information sessions, the kids and I will be exploring Sydney - so much to see and do!!!

I am indeed a very blessed woman. There are just so many things in my life that I realise have been given to me by a God who loves me so intimately.

And last but not least, I am thankful to Lipton for inventing vanilla tea, Blogger for allowing me to rave on as often, and as long as I like, ABC for entertaining my kids, Office Works for all their stationery supplies and Kraft for their crunchy peanut butter.

Love that last paragraph!

Enjoy your trip to 'the big smoke' Oxlades. If you have time, take the kids to Circular Quay and get a ferry around the harbor - its one the best things about Sydney.

*Ryone - an extract of the pomegranate plant used as a cure for baldness. Ancient Colombian tribes farmed the pomegranate seeds and crushed them up to trade with stupid white explorers as the South American version of "Advanced Hair".
